We are recruiting leaders to help children and their families discover life in God’s big story through fun activities, crafts, games and play. Scripture Union Primary Age (SUPA) Clubs are run in Primary Schools across Canberra. Over 60% of kids who attend our clubs are not connected with a church and many have never heard of Jesus. SUPA Clubs give volunteers a great opportunity to build relationships with kids from week to week while journeying with them as they get to know Jesus.

What’s Involved?

  • 30-60 minutes with children in schools at recess, lunch or after school on a weekly or fortnightly basis
  • Sharing the Bible through stories, games and craft activities
  • Creating ongoing, nurturing relationships with children
  • Ensuring children feel safe
  • Planning and gathering resources
  • Activity set up and clean up
  • Building relationships with principals and school staff
  • Training, resourcing, and support and prayer provided by the SU team.

As part of our efforts to keep children safe and ensure our ministries operate with quality, all SU Volunteer positions working with children require a SU Australia Volunteer Application, interview, reference checks, ChildSafe Training, and a Working with Vulnerable People Card before commencing ministry.

Where is my local SUPA Club?

The map below shows our current SUPA Clubs and the local primary schools where we have opportunities to start new SUPA Clubs. How exciting! More SUPA Clubs mean more opportunities to share the Good News and tangibly demonstrate the love of Jesus with primary school students around Canberra.
