LEAD 2021 – Friday 25th to Monday 28th June
LEAD is a leadership development camp for young people in years 8-12 who have skills and attitudes required for Christian leadership.
Through a fun and engaging program, participants will grow in their faith, learn practical skills, improve self-awareness, get practical mission experience, and find out about Christian service opportunities in their church and community.
A key element of the practical mission experience will be assisting with SUPA Holiday Program, a primary aged holiday program in the week following LEAD (Tuesday 29th to Thursday 1st July 8am-4pm) at Page. Campers are expected to assist at this program however if you are unable to attend all of the days, please let us know. On LEAD campers will have the opportunity to help plan for the holiday program and serve in an area where they feel they can add value.
Campers will have the opportunity to connect with other campers through games, bush walking and relaxing together by the campfire. They will also be equipped for leadership learning practical skills such as:
- What’s expected of a leader?
- Child safety
- Running games/activities well
- Skit workshop
- Managing different personalities and behaviours
- How to give a testimony
- Bible engagement
- Leading a small group
- Ministering to children with disability
- Mental health first aid/How to help children who are struggling
All delegates are asked to apply for a Working with Vulnerable People card and complete a SU volunteer application form (https://suact.org.au/volunteer-application-form/) with the help of their parents.
Cost: $270 ($250 where 2 or more delegates are from the same household)
