The Scripture Union ACT camping program is all about empowering children and young people to become the best people they can be.  Challenging them physically, mentally, emotionally, socially and spiritually, campers are assisted and encouraged to step outside themselves and their comfort zones to explore a world of possibilities and purpose.  Long lasting friendships are forged, memories are formed, and self-development is realized.

All camps have sessions that explore the Christian faith in an interactive and discussion-filled environment in order to give them the opportunity to come to their own conclusions and make decisions accordingly.  No knowledge of belief is assumed.

SU works together with churches in the Canberra region to run camps.  The leaders who direct and provide guidance on SU camps are committed Christians who volunteer their time and pay to attend.  Each leader is screened and trained under the nationally recognised ChildSafe Safety Management System so camps are of a high quality and each camper gets the encouragement and care they need.  Emerging leaders, aged between 15-17 years, are also given the opportunity to practice their leadership skills on primary aged camps as junior leaders under the mentorship of experienced camp leaders.

SUACT aims to make the camps as affordable as possible; keeping costs to a minimum, while still giving campers the chance to encounter new experiences and develop new skills.  SUACT is a Registered Care Provider with the Family Assistance Office, receipts are available on request.
